FOUNDER’S MESSAGE
“As a Registered Nurse, Nurse Educator, and a parent of individuals supported by DDA, I understand the importance of care that is both clinically sound and deeply compassionate. Beyond Horizon Living Services was created to deliver the kind of care I would want for my own family—care that is safe, respectful, individualized, and empowering. Our mission is to support people not only to live safely, but to thrive with dignity and purpose.”
— Mary, RN, MSN, BCBA Candidate
Founder, Beyond Horizon Living Services

Mary, the founder of Beyond Horizon Living Services, is a Registered Nurse (RN) with over 20 years of healthcare experience, a Master’s degree in Nurse Education, and is currently pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Mary has extensive, long-standing experience in Supported Living services, where she currently supports multiple provider agencies through medication management, comprehensive nursing assessments, and clinical judgment under Nurse Delegation services, in accordance with Washington State regulations and DDA standards.

In her nurse delegation role, Mary provides:
• Initial and ongoing nursing assessments
• Medication administration oversight
• Delegation and supervision of trained caregivers
• Clinical consultation and judgment for complex medical needs
• Support with care planning, risk mitigation, and health stability
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, case managers, and guardians

Her leadership ensures that individuals receive safe, consistent, and compliant care while supporting provider agencies to meet regulatory expectations and best practices.

Mary’s healthcare journey began as a pharmacist in Kenya, East Africa, giving her a strong foundation in medication safety and pharmacology. After immigrating to the United States, she continued her professional growth—working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) before advancing to become a Registered Nurse and Nurse Educator.

In addition to her professional expertise, Mary brings invaluable lived experience as a parent of individuals supported by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). This dual perspective—clinical and personal—deeply informs her compassionate, family-centered, and advocacy-driven approach to care.

Mary’s experience spans Supported Living, group homes, assisted living facilities, and the Adult Family Home (AFH) sector, where she is also a licensed provider. As a BCBA candidate, she integrates positive behavior support principles, ethical practice, and data-informed decision-making into individualized care planning
